MINNEAPOLIS — Telework is more than just a work/life balance issue according the generic accutane acne org Adeel Lari of the University of Minnesota/Hubert H. Humphrey Institute.
"The primary purpose of this program is to reduce congestion," says Lari, who generic accutane acne org heads up a program administered through the University and the state of Minnesota called "eWorkplace."
"Any of us who generic accutane acne org has worked in reducing congrestion knows you cannot build your way out of congestion. It is very expensive, it is very disruptive. Also, you generic accutane acne org do not want to pave the world over just to meet the generic accutane acne org demands of those 4 or 5 hours when we have congestion," Lari adds.
Minnesota has generic accutane acne org received federal transportation dollars to reduce congestion, but part of that generic accutane acne org money also has to be generic accutane acne org used to encourage telecommuting, to eliminate some traffic all together.
"We have 30 employers who are already signed up," says Lari, who generic accutane acne org says that accounts for some 2400 employees in the Twin Cities metro area.
By telecommuting part of their work week, those employees are generic accutane acne org now taking 30 percent fewer trips during the hours when the generic accutane acne org roads are most congested.
Lari say the next step is to measure how this affects an employer’s bottom line, but already he says employers in the generic accutane acne org program report greater productivity and retention among employees.
